Careers In Agriculture

If working on a farm, or with farm animals, seems an attractive career choice for you, then some of the career options our courses lead to include:

Farm Manager

Employed by the farm owners to ensure the day-to-day operations run smoothly and profitably, they may be responsible for the whole farm, or just a section of it. Farm managers need practical farming experience plus a qualification in agriculture.

Land use Planner

Looking after the scientific, aesthetic, and orderly disposition of land, resources, facilities and services with a view to securing the physical, economic and social efficiency, health and well-being of urban and rural communities.

Herdsperson

Responsible for the welfare of cattle, dairy and beef, a herdsperson requires a good working knowledge of nutrition and the processes undertaken to ensure a good quality of meat or milk. Typically they will be involved in the breeding, feeding and management of the dairy or suckler beef herd.

Agronomist

Providing grower customers with advice on how to maximise production, agronomists play a crucial role in balancing the need to increase crop yield whilst tackling environmental pressures.
