Florist
Florists use their creativity and knowledge of plant material and flowers to create bouquets and arrangements for a variety of different occasions. They work with all kinds of plants and flowers, combined with artificial materials, and advise customers on how to best care for their purchases. In addition, if they run their own shop they would also deal with accounts and administration.
Buyer
Working for either wholesalers or retailers, a buyer will be in constant touch with the growers to ensure consistent quality and supply. Often involving a lot of travel, it is vital in this role to keep up to date with current trends so as to react to the changing demands of the floristry industry.
Venue Florist
Responsible for decorating places such as hotels and conference centres for occasions such as weddings or corporate functions, a venue florist will utilise their design skills so as to maximise the effect within a certain area.
