The variety of subjects at both a theoretical and practical level helps produce multi-skilled graduates able to gain employment within many areas of the animal industry. In addition to providing a solid understanding of applied animal sciences, together with a comprehensive insight into a number of key disciplines crucial to animal management, such as welfare; nutrition; conservation and behaviour, you will also benefit from talks by leading industry organisations.

Entry Requirements

160 UCAS points: 2 A levels at Grade C or above or a National Diploma at PMM or equivalent in appropriate subjects.

Course Duration
Full time: 3 years, 2 days per week. Part time: 4 years, 1 1/2 day per week.

Assessment Method
Coursework (written assignments, projects and presentations) as well as end of unit examinations.

Progression Routes
Successful students may progress onto a related MSc or PhD programme, or into a wide range of management and research posts within the industry.

Specialist Equipment Needed
Protective clothing, footwear and wet weather clothing as well as overalls will be required.
