Students at Hadlow receive a 5% discount at Speedgate Saddlery. Students also benefit from strong links with international competition riders, the Society of Master Saddlers, Ken Lyndon-Dykes and the partnership with Bell Equine veterinary practice.
Concentrating on the sciences involved across all aspects of the equine industry, graduates possess a scientific knowledge of the veterinary support an equine athlete needs. You will take part in practical sessions, seminars and lecture demonstrations to broaden your scientific understanding and upon completion have gained a solid foundation in the different techniques required to work in the equine industry.

Entry Requirements 80 UCAS points: 1 A level at Grade C or above or National Diploma at PPM or equivalent supported by GCSEs.

Location
Hadlow
Course Duration
Full time: 2 years, 2-3 days per week at Hadlow and 1-2 days work experience from term 2.
Part-time: 3 years, 1-2 days per week at Hadlow and 1 day work experience from term 2.
Course Content Year 1 Year 2 A choice of: Students are expected to undertake work experience in each year. You will be supported in finding an appropriate placement which will enable you to gain an insight into working life. In addition, you will have the opportunity to take part in a European study tour which is a popular feature of the first year.
Assessment Method
Coursework (written assignments, reports, case studies and presentations) as well as end of unit examinations.
Progression Routes
Successful students can progress onto the BSc (Hons) Equine Science programme. Graduates will also be fully prepared to take up opportunities in nutrition, nutraceuticals, rehabilitation, lecturing, welfare, breeding technology and bloodstock agency.
