Students benefit from a wide range of links with commercial nurseries, research institutes, organic producers, public and privately owned gardens as well as exposure to the retail world through our onsite garden centre. The College is also a member of the Royal Horticultural Society; NCCPG and the Hardy Plant Society.
Formerly known as an NVQ, this course develops the essential skills and knowledge needed to work in this specialist sector and is ideal for students who are currently employed as groundsmen or greenkeepers. You will gain an understanding of the different stresses the playing surface experiences and how you may effectively maintain them. Throughout this course safe working practices will be a central theme. Training will take place in the workplace at a suitable time arranged with the assessor.
Entry Requirements Students must be employed or in a 1 year work placement within the industry.
