This highly practical course is an ideal starting point for those students with little or no formal qualifications. You will learn about horse welfare, how to ride a horse on the flat and over fence., stable management and working with horses from the ground. Through working in the College yard your understanding of horse care will be broadened and you will possess some exprerience of how the equine industry operates.
Entry Requirements Students should be at Entry Level 3 or working towards Level 1.

Course Content
Assessment Method
Short multiple choice examinations, plus a portfolio of evidence will be marked by an external examiner.
Progression Routes
Successful students can further enhance their skills by enrolling onto the First Diploma in Horse Care or, should they wish to, progress straight into the equine industry.
Specialist Equipment Needed
You will need a BSI approved riding hat, riding boots, gloves, jodhpurs, whip and grooming kit.
