A thriving agricultural sector is fundamental to producing food, preserving the countryside, reducing greenhouse gases and ensuring the survival of whole communities. By taking a course at Hadlow College you can become part of an industry which is currently worth £17bn, produces 60% of the UK's food requirement and, given the concerns about food-miles, is destined only to grow.
You will gain real-life practical experiences in all areas of the subject from livestock and cereal production to countryside access, conservation, animal welfare, sustainable land management and modern farming practices. All our courses are tailored to equip you with the skills you'll need throughout your working life and to potentially run your own business.
The Student's View...
Coming from an agricultural background I'd heard people talking about Hadlow College and how it is a good college to learn at. After doing some research and talking to the lecturers, it was obvious that the atmosphere was really friendly and welcoming.
The course is really interesting. We learm about a variety of different things and I get to experience which I've never seen or done before. It's quite hands-on, you're involved with the lambing process and by combining it with the theorectical lessons you get to understand why things happen the way they do.
My ultimate ambition is to run a farm and the knowledge that I've gained from Hadlow will certainly help with that.
The Department's View...
By training on a commercially operated farm, students get real-life experiences and are well prepared for entering employment, or running their own business.
Your Future Career...
