The Student's View...
After finishing my A-Levels at sixth-form I still wanted to further my education. Having looked around a range of colleges in the UK, I realised that none of them provided the course or specifications I was looking for, apart from Hadlow College. Their Mottingham campus felt welcoming from the moment I saw it on Open Day and I knew this was where I wanted to be.
The jump from music/media to work with reptiles and amphibians was a drastic change but, since they have always held an underlying interest for me, I thought it was time to pursue something I love rather than look back on a career I could've had.
By covering a wide range of subjects from animal biology through to practical animal handling, there is always something new and imteresting to learn. It means I'm never bored and I know that it is opening up a range of options for me once I finish. My ideal career at the moment would be either a zoo keeper or working in animal conservation abroad.
