The Student's View...
Sarah Craighill
BSc (Hons) Equine Management
"Although I'd worked with horses for a while after I left school, I ended up changing direction and working in IT. Eventually though I decided that working with horses was what I wanted to do and therefore felt that a degree would stand me in good stead.

The course is absolutely fantastic. There is a good mix of classroom based theory as well as practical work. Although it is hard work it is also very rewarding; I've learnt a huge amount since I've been here and my riding skills have improved no end. There is also the additional bonus that some of the units complement the BHS system, meaning you can take the BHS examinations alongside.

Hadlow is in such a lovely area. The equine facilities are brilliant and all students are given the opportunity to use and learn about a wide variety of horses and equipment that smaller places wouldn't be able to offer. It is such a friendly place to study.

Once I finish the qualification I'd like to go further and maybe take an MSc before possibly teaching or going into equine rehabilitation. I'm sure that the practical skills I've gained from this degree will be vital when working in the equine industry."
