Residential accomodation at Hadlow College

Our new accomodation block at Grove Farm

Grove Farm accommodation at Hadlow College, our en-suite facility for over 18s

Residential Accommodation

Accommodation is, where possible, offered to every student who needs it as part of their course, either because it includes early morning duties such as yard or farm duties, or because their family home is too far away.

Within our on-campus student village we have more than 160 places, each one of which offers modern single rooms with shared bathrooms and kitchen facilities. Kitchens are fully equipped with cookers, microwaves, toasters, fridge-freezers, storage cupboards as well as irons and ironing boards.

All you are required to bring with you are kitchen utensils, crockery, bed linen and personal items. Accommodation is offered on a half-board basis, which comprises breakfast and evening meal during the week and breakfast over the weekend.

All meals are served in the on-site restaurant where a range of healthy eating and vegetarian choices are available. In addition, a number of resident wardens live on-site and are on call in case of emergency.

This, combined with the cover our Student Support Services Team give, ensures a 24 hour on-call facility across a range of academic and pastoral care activities. Students under 18 are divided into male and female blocks, with further education and higher education students occupying separate buildings where possible.

Disabled access

Rooms are available which have been specifically adapted to suit the needs of students with a range of physical disabilities. Please talk, in confidence, to our Student Support Services Team if you have any specific requirements.

How to apply

You will be given details on the accommodation offered when you come for your interview and, once you've accepted your place, you will be forwarded an application form to complete.

Since we receive significantly more applications than places available, priority is given to those students who are either:

  • Only have access to public transport
  • Live more than one hour away from the Maidstone and Tonbridge coach pick-up points
  • Live overseas
  • Are studying a course which involves early or late practical duties

Rooms are allocated in a priority order and if over subscribed we may have to place some students on a waiting list. We will support our adult students in the process of looking for off-site accommodation if necessary. It is recommended that you apply for accommodation as soon as you have been offered and accepted a place on one of our full-time courses.
