More about Animal Management faculty

This course replaces the Level 2 and Level 3 Veterinary Nursing qualification and is delivered by the awarding body the RCVS. The course will consist of both theoretical and practical training with external examinations set by the RCVS. Once qualified you will be able to register with the RCVS and practice as a qualified veterinary nurse.

You will be taught by qualified and experienced veterinary nurses and use our purpose built Veterinary Nursing Suite during your training. In practice you will be supported by a clinical coach and complete a Nursing progress log alongside attending college to cover both the theory and practical elements of veterinary nursing.

The course will run over two years and include 2 one week blocks. Potential students will be able to speakto a member of the VN team at the college for further details.

Entry Requirements

Students must be 16 years old or over and:

  • Possess 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English Language, Maths and a Science subject. Alternative qualifications of a comparable or higher standard may be accepted in lieu of the usual requirements at the discretion of the RCVS.
  • Employed in an RCVS approved veterinary nurse training practice.

Assessment Method
Students complete a nursing log, external theory and practical examinations and in college assignments/assessments.

Progression Routes
Successful students can progress onto degree courses. Alternatively they can develop their career as a head nurse, practice manager, or college lecturer.
