Providing an introduction to all aspects of working with the countryside and conservation, this course comprises a blend of theory and practical sessions. You will benefit from extensive sessions on the College farm and estate, together with visits to specialist resources, all of which are aimed at enabling you to develop a solid grasp of the countryside and environment.
Entry Requirements Applicants should have a profile of a minimum of 4 GCSEs, 2 of which should be at grades C - D. This profile should also preferably include 2 in English, Maths or Science.

Assessment Method
Continuous assessment through assignments, projects, practical tests and external assessments.
Progression Routes
Successful students can further enhance their skills by enrolling onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma, a work-based qualification or Apprenticeship. Alternatively, should you wish to do so, you may gain employment as an assistant park warden, or assistant countryside ranger.
Specialist Equipment Needed
You will need steel toe-capped boots, waterproof clothing, a clipboard and work clothing.
