Students benefit from close links with local florists and wholesalers. The College is also an active member of the British Florist Association.
Further developing your practical floristry skills, this course covers a range of advanced designs such as bridal and sympathy work. You will learn about the marketing and retail skills needed to be a successful florist and gain an insight into the correct use of corporate image. By the end of the course you should have the necessary tools to start your own business or progress onto one of our higher educational programmes.
Entry Requirements A practical interview plus one of the following:

Full time: 1 year, 2 days per week.
Part-time: 2 years, 1 day per week.
Course Content
Assessment Method
Each unit will be assessed by practical work and written assignments. At the end of the course there is a final short answer written examination.
Progression Routes
Successful students can progress into higher education with the Higher Diploma in Floristry (HDF) (Level 4) from the Society of Floristry. Alternatively they can pursue a career in the industry.
Specialist Equipment Needed
Students will need to provide their own flowers plus a well stocked tool box and camera to photograph design work. A sketch book is also recommended.
