Students benefit from a wide range of links with commercial nurseries, research institutes, organic producers, public and privately owned gardens as well as exposure to the retail world through our onsite garden centre. The College is also a member of the Royal Horticultural Society; NCCPG and the Hardy Plant Society.
Introducing students to working with plants and landscaping, this course provides a useful background to the horticultural industry and demonstrates the variety of different career paths that exist. You will benefit from a range of theory and practical lessons across a number of different environments – including hard landscaping, planting and plant protection. You will gain an understanding of the importance of amenity horticulture and be qualified to help in the maintenance of plants in nurseries and gardens.
Entry Requirements Applicants should have a profile of a minimum of 4 GCSEs, 2 of which should be at grades C - D. This profile should also preferably include 2 in English, Maths or Science.

Written assignments and practical assessments.
Progression Routes
Successful students can progress onto a work-based qualification, Apprenticeship or the Level 3 Extended Diploma. Alternatively they may gain employment in the industry.
