The College is also a member of the Royal Horticultural Society; NCCPG and the Hardy Plant Society.

More about Horticulture, Landscape & Design Courses faculty

Formerly known as an NVQ, this course examines the propagation and maintenance of plants and the management of grass, paths and structures and is ideal for somebody with no previous experience. You will benefit from a blend of theory and practical training underpinned at all times with the essentials of safe working practices. Training will take place in the workplace at a suitable time arranged with the assessor.

Entry Requirements

Students must be employed or in a 1 year work placement within the industry. You will undertake an intial assessment to determine your starting level.

Course Content

This can include:

  • Maintain the safety of self and others in the workplace
  • Principles of transporting supplies of physical resources within the work area.
  • Assist with tarnsporting supplies of physical resources within the work area
  • Principles of maintainig structure and surfaces
  • Assist with the maintenance of structures and surfaces.
