Building on the skills developed at NVQ Level 2, this course is designed for those students working in a position of responsibility within the amenity horticulture industry. Enabling you to develop craft-level skills, you will study the principles of landscape evaluation and design, hard landscape construction, soft landscape installation and management, health and safety and basic management of materials and labour. Training will take place in the workplace at a suitable time arranged with the assessor.

Entry Requirements

Certificate or Diploma in Work-Based Horticulture (Level 2) or equivalent is desirable. Students must be in a position of responsibility within the industry.

  • Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security of the workplace
  • Estimate and programme resource requirements for landscaping
  • Manage your own resources

  • Monitor landscape maintenance and inspect landscape features and facilities
