Industry Links
Students benefit from close ties with regional aocieties and farming clubs as well as organisations such as the National Farmers' Union (NFU), the Young Farmers, DEFRA, and RABDF. In addition, students are encouraged to attend relevant industry conferences and exhibitions.
This practical programme will equip graduates with the technical skills and knowledge to take advantage of the agricultural opportunities which exist throughout the world. This programme willencourage you to apply sound business principles to an agricultural environment and equip you with an understanding of the global conditions in which agriculture operates. Highly practical in nature, you will have "hands on" involvement from the very start, expanding your skills in the College livestock and cropping units.

Entry Requirements 120 UCAS points made up from A levels, preferably one in a Science based subject, or a relevant Level 3 vocational qualification. All applicants should also have a GCSE grade C or above in English, Maths and Science.

Course Duration
2 years, 2-2 1/2 days per week.
Please note, you will be expected to spend 1-2 days per week studying at home in addition to attendance at College.
Course Content Year 1 Year 2 As part of the course students are expected to undertake work experience. Whilst this normally takes place in the second year on a part-time basis, some students choose to complete it on a full-time basis in the summer between year 1 and year 2. You will be supported in finding an appropriate placement which will enable you to gain an insight into working life.
Assessment Method
Coursework (practical assignments, written reports and presentations) as well as end of unit examinations.
Progression Routes
Successful students can progress onto the final year of the BSc (Hons) International Agriculture programme. Alternatively, they may wish to take advantage of the opportunities which exist in farm management, technical and advisory positions within the UK and abroad.
