Higher Education Fees and Finance

FINANCE & FINANCIAL SUPPORT

The University of Greenwich and Hadlow College are committed to providing accessible education for all by reducing the tuition fees applicable for courses enabling us to provide excellent quality higher education and superior value for money.

Tuition fees

Full-time undergraduate students do not have to pay any fees before they start university or whilst they are studying. Most full-time undergraduates are able to defer their fees through a fee loan from Student Finance England. This loan does not need to be repaid until you have left university and are earning more than £21,000 a year.  Of course, if you are able, you can pay the fees yourself and not take out a loan.

Details quoted below, including fees, are for the academic year 2012/2013

Home and EU students

Fees for new home/EU students are £7,900 per year for a full-time BA/BSc honours degree and £6,000 for HND / foundation degree (FdSc). Fees for part-time students are pro-rata the full-time equivalent fee (a percentage, depending on the intensity of the course).

For exact fees for your chosen course please contact the Admissions Office on 0500 551434 or alternatively refer to the University of Greenwich website.   Tuition fees are subject to annual review.  Please be aware any changes to your course could result in a change in your fees and any funding you may receive, therefore check with the University of Greenwich Finance Team before making any alterations.

Overseas students (International)

Tuition fees for full-time overseas students are approximately £9,850 per year.   It is advisable to discuss these fees further with the University of Greenwich's International Adviser based at the Avery Hill campus.

A deposit is required by the University of Greenwich if you accept a place on a course and wish to receive a letter from the University to assist with your visa application. Tuition fees are subject to annual review. Fees for part-time programmes will be pro-rata to the full-time rate.

Course related costs

You may need to purchase specialist equipment to study on some programmes. Estimates of course related costs will be given to you at your interview or on enquiry to the Admissions Office.

Maintenance loans

Student loans of up to £5,500 per year are available to home full-time students living away from home enrolled on undergraduate programmes. Normally you must be under 60 at the start of your course. You can apply for a student loan by contacting Student Finance England.  Loans do not need to be repaid until the April after you finish your programme and only after you are earning over £21,000 per year. Maintenance grants

Full-time home undergraduate students from lower-middle income households, will be able to apply for a new Maintenance Grant of up to £3,250 a year. Please apply via Student Finance England

Disabled Student's Allowance

DSAs help with costs you incur in attending your course and as a direct result of your disability. A 'disability' may be a physical, mental health or learning difficulty. DSAs are available to full-time and part-time students with disabilities although part-time students must be studying at least 50% of a full-time course. DSAs are not means tested and do not have to be repaid. Apply for a DSA via Student Finance England.
