Hadlow Equine Students Take to the Road

On Saturday 27th January, Hadlow BSc Equine Training and Management students Louisa Theodorakis and Francesca Harbourne competed in the Novice class of the Oldencraig unaffiliated dressage competition as part of their Advanced Equitation module. It was the first time they had taken their project horses out to their first external competition, held at the Oldencraig Equestrian Centre, one of the top equestrian centres in the south east, in Lingfield, Surrey. With Louisa riding Kodi and Francesca on Hero, both achieved respectable scores for their first time out.

The students work with an allocated horse for a four-month period and are required to create an electronic portfolio of their progress. They compete in the dressage and showjumping competitions held at Hadlow initially and then progress to taking the horses out to external venues. Their next showjumping outing is in two weeks’ time.

Well done to Louisa and Francesca… and Kodi and Hero of course! You’ve done the college proud!
