Kim Young

HE Team Leader - Equine

Kim is an experienced instructor with a keen interest in dressage. She has an MSc in Equine Behaviour, Performance & Training, a BSc (Hons) in Molecular Biology and holds a BHSAI qualification. Since she began working with horses in 1988, she has gained experience in a range of disciplines, having worked with Olympic and international dressage horses, international showjumpers, advanced event horses, show horses, liveries and riding school horses. Her experience ranges from grooming and instructing to managerial positions within the industry. 

Kim competes at affiliated dressage and she has competed her current horse through the levels to medium level and trained to advanced medium. This partnership has had some success, with regular placings at regional level and qualifying for the British Dressage Winter National Championships and Pet Plan National Championships. Alongside competing, Kim is also a trainee judge for British Dressage, which involves regular attendance at judges conventions and training seminars.

Whilst studying for her MSc, she was actively involved in carrying out research examining the effect of breast support conditions on female riders. As an experienced teacher, Kim has developed expertise in engaging a range of students to develop a love of learning.
