Aimed at students who have achieved their Stage 1 qualification and are keen to progress, this course is designed to prepare students to take their next horse care, riding and lungeing qualification. The course is highly practical utilising the excellent facilities, to develop your proficiency in fitting equipment, trimming, plaiting, assisting with clipping, preparing horses for travel and exercising horses from the ground. Theory topics such as; feeding, anatomy and physiology, health and fitness are delivered in a classroom environment to include the use of I.T. The course also includes riding coaching each week for those intending to take the riding option. Students will benefit from excellent facilities and resources including well trained and responsive horses as well as highly qualified staff.

Entry requirements

The British Horse Society Stage 1 Award in Horse Care is a pre-requisite for those wishing to train towards the next Care and Management Award. The British Horse Society Stage 1 in Complete Horsemanship is a pre-requisite for those who also wish to train towards the next Rider Award.

Applicants will be invited to attend an interview.

In order to take the exam at the end of the course students will need to be a Gold member of the British Horse Society.
