It will also involve learning a popular range of flower, foliage and plant names as well as an introduction to creating displays to promote floristry goods and services.

All aspects of retail practices such a business management and marketing, trends and event floristry are included, with good vocationally practical and employability skills developed through our on-site commercial florist - Broadview Florist. Duties will also be carried out maintaining the College floristry facilities where students will develop their knowledge alongside their practical skills

Ultimately, upon finishing your course at Hadlow College, your career in the floristry sector could involve floral design but may also include wholesale buying and selling, event management and the selling of related products.

I started on the L2 and progressed onto L3, worked in the industry and returned to manage Broadview Florist, studying for my L4 and 5 whilst working here.

Broadview Florist Manager

I started on the Level 2 Floristry Course when I was 18 and we were taken on a fantastic study trip to the Netherlands, taking in the amazing flower markets of Amsterdam and the surrounding area.

I enjoyed the course so much that I chose to progress onto Level 3, going off to work in the industry before returning to manage Broadview Florist, studying for my Level 4 and 5 whilst working here.

I think the fact that I studied four courses here is testament to the quality of the teaching at Hadlow. I love the variety, the huge scope for creativity and challenge that the floristry courses provide.
