The Benefits of Working For Us

Working for Hadlow College is rewarding in itself. Our team come to work every day and make a real difference to the lives and education of our students. At the same time, we like to see staff grow as individuals too.

We’ve been recognised for our pride in our people with various awards, including Investor in People Gold.

When it comes to the essentials, such as salary, leave and pension schemes, all our packages go beyond the statutory requirements. We also offer generous benefits that make working with us even more rewarding.

The Benefits

Health Plan

The Health Cash Plan is a taxable benefit which allows employees to cash reimbursements for everyday health expenses, such as optical and dental expenses. The scheme also gives access to supportive services such as counselling and scans.

Our Wellness Hub is totally free of charge for staff with a great selection of health and fitness facilities. We have also negotiated special staff rates for memberships of local leisure centres.

The College restaurant is open to both staff and students for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It also provides a range of snacks and beverages throughout the day.

Free parking is available to staff at all of our College campuses.

We offer childcare vouchers to all our staff to help with childcare costs.

A sister organisation within the Hadlow Group - Hadlow Community Pre-School - is based at the College's Court Lane site, just a short walk from the College. This facility provides a safe and fun environment for children from one year old through to five years old, with holiday and after-school clubs as well.

We consider and grant requests for flexible working where possible.

We want to see our staff fulfill their potential personally and professionally. That’s why we offer internal and external training including the opportunity to study for professional qualifications.

We believe in solving industrial relations as quickly as possible by discussion and agreement. For practical purposes this is conducted by representatives of both employers and employees.  The College recognises Unison and the University and College Union (UCU).

We hold an annual awards ceremony at the summer staff party where we recognise hard work and successes across the College.

Staff get a 10% discount at Broadview, the College’s Garden Centre and Tearoom as well as the College Farm Shop.

We organise a busy calendar of social events throughout the year, some are free for staff, their family and friends. These include the popular Christmas and summer parties.

Everyone who teaches with us has key worker status. This means you might be entitled to housing schemes such as Shared Ownership or Homebuy, to help you buy or rent a home at a reduced rate.  You can find out more about these schemes from local authorities and housing associations.
