With countries now growing more of their own food, scientific, practical, sustainable agriculture has a vital role to play in society. This degree offers students the chance to develop an in-depth knowledge of agriculture and experience of practical crop and livestock farming. Students also learn how to make decisions in agricultural management that are profitable and sustainable.
Throughout the course, students have access to farm resources, including a commercial sheep flock, beef herd, 180 hectares of pasture, a large dairy herd, and approximately 400 hectares of arable crops and forestry. There are also a variety of visits in the UK including pig, poultry and regenerative farming and students can take part in an International Study tour.
