Two tutors with flowers

Today (28 February) we celebrate World Floral Design Day, a global recognition of the creativity, artistry, and cultural significance of floral arranging.

Floral design is more than simply placing flowers in a vase, it’s a centuries-old art form that blends skill, imagination, and storytelling. Across the world, flowers have been used to celebrate milestones, honour traditions, and brighten everyday life.

World Floral Design Day also shines a light on the talented floral designers who bring joy and beauty to our homes, events, and communities.

Established in 1995 to commemorate the work of Carl Rittner, a pioneer in floral art education, World Floral Design Day reminds us of the artistry that transforms stems and foliage into living works of art.

Here at Hadlow College, we share that passion. Our Floristry courses combine practical, hands-on learning with essential design theory to help students develop their creative flair and professional skills.

Working in fully equipped floristry studios, design spaces, and even our own cutting garden, students gain experience in every aspect of the craft, from conditioning fresh flowers and foliage, to mastering design principles, retail practice, and event floristry.

Our learners also have the opportunity to create installations for our stunning Broadview Gardens and contribute to prestigious events such as the Chelsea Flower Show.

If you dream of turning your love for flowers into a rewarding career, our floristry courses could be your first step into this vibrant, creative industry.
