Children and adults sat in petting area

It’s that time of year again when we will be front and centre at Kent’s flagship event for all things farming, agriculture and rural life in the county.

The Kent County Show returns to the County Showground in Detling near Maidstone from 3 to 5 July, and Hadlow College is the headline sponsor.

The Hadlow College area is located in an unmissable spot close to the main entrance. Inside, visitors will find a wide range of interactive activities and experiences, including the chance to get in the saddle of our horse riding and tractor simulators!

We are the first college in the country to offer a falconry qualification, and visitors will be able to see several birds of prey, which will be taking their perch in the marquee for the first time, alongside giant tortoises and snakes brought along by the National Centre for Reptile Welfare.

From delicious apple juice to tasty tomatoes , visitors will be able to sample produce grown by students as part of their studies. There will be plant sales and floristry displays too.

Our staff from a range of departments, including Apprenticeships and Careers will be on hand to talk to visitors and anyone interested in studying or interested in finding gout more about what we do.

Chris Lydon, vice principal, said: “We’re delighted to once again be part of the Kent County Show and support such an important event for the county’s agricultural and rural industries. “The show provides a fantastic opportunity for our students to gain valuable hands-on experience, engage with industry professionals, and showcase their skills and knowledge. “It also allows us to highlight the outstanding work taking place at Hadlow College, Kent’s only land-based and rural college, and demonstrate our commitment to developing the next generation of professionals within the agricultural, horticulture, and land-based sectors.”
