There will be a stellar new addition to Hadlow College’s presence at this weekend’s Kent County Show when, for the first time in several years, the College will be showing its own cattle and sheep.
A pedigree Hereford bull, a British Blue cross steer, a Hereford cross heifer, a Lleyn shearling ewe and two Romney shearling ewes will all be stepping to the spotlight of the livestock rings at the region’s premier event for farming, agriculture, and countryside life.
In addition to that visitors to the Hadlow College marquee can enjoy a packed programme of interactive experiences and showcases across the three-day event.
Highlights include plant sales, a chance to buy a bottle of the College’s own apple juice, and taste freshly harvested tomatoes grown at the Thanet Earth Centre of Excellence @Hadlow College.
There will be floristry displays, a tractor simulator, and an equine racing simulator, as well as interactive equine displays and live animal first aid demonstrations every hour. The College’s animals will also be on display, alongside an array of snakes and reptiles courtesy of the National Centre for Reptile Welfare (NCRW).
Visitors can also learn more about College life by speaking with staff at the Apprenticeships, Careers, and Residential information stations
Taking place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (4, 5, and 6 July) the Kent County Show sees animals, horses, vintage vehicles, retail stands and much more converge on the beautiful surroundings of the Kent Showground for a celebration of the best in the county.
