Hadlow College has been named the winner of the Best Agricultural Trade Stand award at this year’s Kent County Show, recognising our outstanding showcase of education, innovation and the future of the agricultural and land-based industries.

The College was once again front and centre at Kent’s flagship celebration of farming, agriculture and rural life, held at the County Showground in Detling near Maidstone from 3 to 5 July, where it was headline sponsor.

Located close to the main entrance, the Hadlow College area welcomed thousands of visitors with a wide range of interactive activities and experiences. Guests were able to try their hand at horse riding and tractor simulators, meet birds of prey, and discover more about the College’s pioneering falconry provision.

Hadlow College showcased several birds of prey in its marquee, alongside snakes from the National Centre for Reptile Welfare.

Visitors were also able to sample produce grown by students as part of their studies, including apple juice and tomatoes, while exploring plant sales, floristry displays and learning more about the wide range of courses and opportunities available.

The Apprenticeships and Careers teams, were on hand throughout the event to speak with visitors interested in studying, training or finding out more about the work carried out at Hadlow College.

Claire Shearwood Burton, Director of Marketing and Communications, said: “We’re delighted to have been recognised with the Best Agricultural Trade Stand award at the Kent County Show. It is a fantastic achievement and reflects the hard work, creativity and commitment of everyone involved in creating such an engaging and informative showcase.

“As Kent’s only land-based and rural college, we are proud to support such an important event for the county’s agricultural and rural industries and to highlight the outstanding work taking place at Hadlow College.”
